  1. I enjoy all of your broadcasts! You must be aware that the first part of the music to your videos are from a song written by Hanan Yovel in the aftermath of the Yom Kippur war called ‏ליל חניה . If you don’t know the song you need to get a hold of it and listen to it in its entirety.

  2. Don’t you think Pharaoh was also affected by the fact that Moses had been raised in his palace and that he was believed to be a blood relative?

  3. Rabbi Enkin, in Chapter 5 of Exodus verse 1 states > And afterwards Moses and Aaron came, and said unto Pharaoh ; ‘ Thus saith the Lord , the God of Israel: Let My people go, that they may hold a feast unto Me in the wilderness.’ Verse 2 > And Pharaoh said : ‘ Who is the Lord, that I should hearken unto His voice to let Israel go ? I know not the Lord, and moreover I will not let Israel go. ‘ Rabbi Enkin , I say Pharaoh did not believe in a god and was not religious, because Pharaoh would have said to Moses > my god does not know your Lord. However, Pharaoh did believe in his own Power and his own Greatness, as He was Egypt ! So Pharaoh had to challenge Moses to prove that there was no Lord God of Israel ! Yes, Pharaoh said ‘ Who is the Lord, that ((( I ))) should hearken unto His voice to let Israel go ?

    1. Stephen, shalom!

The Midrahsic sources indeed discuss the ancient Egyptian religious system, along with their deities. Pharaoh believed that Moses was a magician, and that his God would save him from Moses’ “God”. He did believe in a religious system, just not the God of Israel. Much more can be said about this, I hope this suffices for now.

      Warmest regards,

      Ari Enkin

  4. Very effective and nice. Short thought provoking presentations are definitely effective than long lectures. The reason why Pharoah did not do anything to Moses is very interesting. But why he let them off in the end is a mystery. Maybe he did not want to leave his nation even though it must have been clear that true G-d was with Israel.

  5. Todah Raba, from FL. USA, Rabbi!
Loved this nugget of wisdom. In agreement with you, first things first. Sh’lom!

  6. This made me laugh, I expected something so serious. Picturing Pharoah posting a selfie or checking Facebook, dare I say lol. But it occurred to me too, that Pharaoh had such a long personal relationship with Moses. He raised him. Maybe he couldn’t harden his heart the way a dictator could do towards a stranger. He was a real person…
